Third Grader's Science Project Wins Hearts

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — A third grader touched hearts with her award-winning science project.
Westhampton Beach Elementary School student Elizabeth Sultan was recognized by the Suffolk County Legislature on June 5 and presented with a certificate of achievement for earning a first-place award in her age category in the annual Brookhaven National Laboratory Elementary School Science Fair, a release from the district said.
Her project, “Music Moves the Heart,” documented the change in heart rate that occurred when she played different melodies at varying tempos on the piano, the district added.
