Vehicle Slams Into Pole, Boats In Hampton Bays Crash: FD
Two people were trapped in the vehicle, which rolled over onto its side, the Hampton Bays Fire Department said.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY —A driver slammed into a pole, multiple boat trailers, and boats during a crash Thursday night in Hampton Bays, fire officials said.
According to the Hampton Bays Fire Department, the crash took place on East Montauk Highway at Canoe Place Road at 11:38 p.m. The vehicle struck the pole and boats before coming to rest on its side under a boat, officials said.
Rescue crews, using rescue struts, stabilized the vehicle so the roof and doors could be safely removed to allow for access, the fire department said.

Fire police secured both directions of travel due to the extent of the damage; another fire department volunteer kept members safe in the "large area operation," the Hampton Bays Fire Department said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the sustained minor injuries; no charges had been filed as of Thursday afternoon, police said.
