Vigils For Lives Lost To ODs Will Go On, Rain Or Shine

The annual event in Hampton Bays is an emotional gathering of those who have lost loved ones to the scourge of addiction.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Rain or shine, an event to honor lives lost to addiction and the pandemic will take place Saturday.

According to Southampton Town officials, the event, initially planned for Saturday, Mother's Day eve, was rescheduled for Saturday, May 14, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Good Ground Park, 9A Squiretown Road in Hampton Bays.

Weather won't stop the event, despite predictions of soggy skies: Tents will be set up in case of rain.

The annual event is sponsored by the town's addiction and recovery/behavioral health committee.
