Westhampton Beach Budget, BOE Election Results Are In

Residents turned out Tuesday for the school budget vote.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY -Westhampton Beach residents approved a $$55, 047,141 school budget on Tuesday.

The $55, 047,141 budget was approved 388 to 79.

The library budget passed 303 to 162.

The total budget increase is 0.15 percent while the tax rate increase is 0.70 percent over the current year’s rate.

The estimated annual school tax increase on a property with an assessed value of $700,000 will be $31.15, less than $3 per month.

In the Board of Education election, incumbent George R. Kast, Jr. ran unopposed for his seat, the only seat open in the election, and received 397 votes.
