Westhampton Beach Elementary School Students Raise More Than $20K
The kids participated in a Hurricane Fun Run to raise the funds, which will be used for enrichment programs at the elementary school.
WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Even the youngest students can learn how to give back in a big way: Westhampton Beach Elementary School students recently raised more than $20,000 for their school with the annual Hurricane Fun Run.
The event, held on Friday, was sponsored by the PTA. Students garnered pledges to run laps on the high school football field — and, leading up to the event, they participated in spirit days to rev up their enthusiasm.
All of the funds raised will go directly toward cultural and academic enrichment programs at the elementary school, the district said.
