Westhampton Beach High School Graduation Marks Ending, New Beginning

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — It was a day for tears of joy and celebration as the Westhampton Beach High School Class of 2023 received their diplomas on June 23 at the school’s 115th commencement exercises.

During the evening ceremony, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carolyn Probst and High School Principal Christopher Herr congratulated the students on their academic, athletic and extracurricular accomplishments — and their community service contributions.

Among those who spoke at the podium were valedictorian Megan Sitzmann and salutatorian Daniel Gosnell.

"Enjoy the moments life has to offer you," Sitzmann said.

Gosnell shared the lessons he'd learned at Westhampton Beach. "As we receive our diplomas, this not only marks the end of our high school journey, but also a fresh start," he said.

Senior class historian McKenna Heaney recalled class memories and achievements. In closing, the symphonic choir entertained with a performance of “Home” by Phillip Phillips.

After accepting their diplomas and tossing their caps, the graduates joined a final procession off the football field as proud families and friends cheered their accomplishments.
