Westhampton Beach High School Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Two of Westhampton Beach's High School's shining seniors have been named valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2022.

Westhampton Beach High School has announced Gavin Ehlers and Madison Quinn as its Class of 2022 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. The two seniors earned the top spots in their class through their outstanding commitment to academics.

Ehlers and Quinn have achieved an array of academic accomplishments during their time at Westhampton Beach High School. Both were named AP Scholars with Distinction by the College Board for their outstanding Advanced Placement exam scores, earned prestigious AP Capstone designations on their diplomas, and are members of the school’s National Honor Society.

Also, Ehlers is treasurer of the National Honor Society and a National Merit finalist. He is also a cross-country and winter and spring track athlete who has earned multiple honors. He is a four-time cross-country champion and holds All-State, All-East Coast and All-Long Island titles for running, the district said.

In the fall, Ehlers plans to attend Wake Forest University, where he will join the cross-country and track and field teams. He intends to study business.

Quinn serves as president the National Honor Society, vice president of her school’s Interact Club, vice president of the Yearbook Club and secretary of student government. She also played soccer and lacrosse until her sophomore year. Additionally, she earned a National Merit commendation and the Bausch & Lomb Science Award, as well as awards in Spanish I and Algebra II, the district said.
