Members of the Westhampton Beach High School Youth to Youth club spent Red Ribbon Week, from Monday, Oct. 27 to Friday, Oct. 31, educating their peers about the dangers of drugs through a variety of events and activities.

With a theme of “Drugs are No Joke,” the club members hung signs and passed out informational pamphlets and red lollipops with drug free messages. They also asked fellow students to sign a banner pledging to make good choices.

In addition, students had a crashed car placed at the entrance to the school to remind their peers and the community that using drugs and alcohol before driving can lead to fatal accidents.

On the final day of Red Ribbon week, students held a pie-throwing contest where volunteer students were asked, during their lunch periods, a series of questions related to drugs and alcohol. If they answered incorrectly, they received a pie in the face.
