Westhampton Beach Residents Approve School Budget By Wide Margin

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — The voters have spoken and passed the Westhampton Union Free Union Free School District's proposed budget of $58,018,834 by a wide margin.

After the votes were tallied, the budget passed 243 to 65.

The budget represents an increase of 1.59% and carries a tax levy increase of 3.64%, which is below the statutory tax levy limit.

"We are committed to providing our students with first-rate educational and extracurricular opportunities, while being mindful of the burden placed on our taxpayers," said Superintendent of Schools Michael Radday. "Over the past five years our budget increases have averaged just 1.2% per year."

Stacy R. Rubio ran unopposed for one vacant Board of Education seat and received 283 votes.
