Westhampton Beach Students Pay Tribute To Veterans
It was the first-ever annual Veterans Day service at Westhampton Beach Elementary School.
WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Even the youngest of students opened their hearts to pay tribute to local veterans in Westhampton Beach laterly.
Westhampton Beach Elementary School held its first annual ceremony on Nov. 9, the district said.
During the event, students learned about the history of Veterans Day, met 14 local veterans from all branches of the military and heard from guest speaker Sr. Master Sgt. Jonathan Mazura. To culminate the ceremony, students sang "Proud of Our Veterans."

Westhampton Beach High School students in U.S. history classes also met with members of the VFW Post 5350 on Nov. 9. The veterans spoke to the students about their respective careers in the military.
