Westhampton Beach Students Take Computer Science to Next Level

Kids were able to explore coding as a possible career, school officials said.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Westhampton Beach elementary school students dug a little more deeply into computers recently.

To celebrate Computer Science Education Week, the kids spent an hour learning code using activities provided by Code.org, according to a release from the district.

Principal Lisa Slover said coding exercise offered students with an opportunity to not only explore coding as a possible career, but "also honed in on students’ in-depth thinking and problem-solving skills," the release said.
