The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Westhampton-Hampton Bays.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, Westhampton-Hampton Bays neighbors and friends. Some happy news today: First off, a family who lost everything in a Hampton Bays house fire last week saw the incredible light of hope when one of their four cats, missing since the blaze, was found.

Also on Friday, a seal who captivated hearts near and far after he was found in the Riverside traffic circle Sunday was released in Hampton Bays. And in one of those "you've got to see it to believe it" moments, the video shows the pup turning around to face his rescuers, as if saying thank you and good-bye, one last time. Watch the video here. Thank you to all who came together to bring this seal pup to safety.

Enjoy the weekend in this place we call home. . . .
