🌱 Westhampton-Hampton Bays Daily: Shooter Drill + Hampton Bays Nod

Good morning, neighbors and friends! Saturday's mass casualty incident training drill in Greenport saw many representatives from Westhampton Beach and other areas on the East End. While hearing the cries of the student actors portraying roles in a staged active shooting was harrowing, especially as a mother myself, the training, all agreed, was critical —communication and collaboration is critical in the face of the unthinkable. All the agencies that participated, as well as the students who volunteered their time to portray the victims, deserve our deepest thanks. They worked tirelessly to keep students safe in the event of a true emergency.

Former Westhampton Beach Fire Department Chief Chip Bancroft led the drill and he spoke with Patch at length about how preparedness can most definitely save lives.
