Woman Charged With DWI After Driving Off Road, Trying To Flee: Police

SPEONK, NY — A Nesconset woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after she drove off the road in Eastport, hit a telephone pole, and fled from the scene on foot, police said.

The incident took place Monday night at 11:49 p.m. on Montauk Highway, Southampton Town police said. Samantha Baltieri, 30, was found in the area; she was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, police said.

She was taken to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing and held to appear in justice court at morning arraignment, police said.
