Woman Injured By Boat Propeller While Trying To Board Vessel In Peconic Bay: Police

She suffered a laceration from the boat's propeller, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A woman was injured by a boat propeller while attempting to board a vessel in Peconic Bay Friday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at about 2:30 p.m.; a call came in about a female who had suffered the laceration from the boat propeller and was being transported to Modern Yachts in Hampton Bays via a personal vessel, police said.

Southampton Town police patrol units, along with the Southampton Town marine patrol and Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps, responded to Modern Yachts on Newtown Road, police said.

Upon arrival, the woman was transported by Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
