Woman Stole From Special Needs' Residents At LI Group Home: Police
She stole from 7 different residents, police say.
MANORVILLE, NY — A caregiver was arrested and charged after she stole money from seven residents with special needs at a Manorville group home in 2021, police said.
Kathleen Will, 35, of Mastic Beach, was arrested Tuesday and charged with seven counts of petty larceny, Suffolk County police said. She was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on April 24, police said.
While doing paperwork in February, 2022, a manager at Independent Group Home Living noticed money was missing from seven different residents; the manager contacted Suffolk County police and made a complaint, authorities said.

After an investigation, Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers arrested Will, a former employee of the home, who they said stole $200 each from the seven residents on November 19, 2021, police said.
