2 Injured In West Islip Car Crash: Police
Suffolk County police said the crash happened just before 9 p.m. Friday.
WEST ISLIP, NY — Two people were injured Friday night when a car traveling in West Islip struck another vehicle attempting to turn into a parking lot, according to authorities.
Suffolk County police said the crash happened just before 9 p.m. near 425 Union Blvd. in West Islip. According to police, Thomas George Yeung, 20, of West Islip, was traveling westbound when he struck an eastbound car as the driver made a left-hand turn into a parking lot.
The driver of the eastbound car — Mauricio Ramos, 53, of West Islip — was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital with serious injuries. Yeung was taken to the same hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, according to authorities.
