6-Year-Old Boy in Critical Condition After Near Drowning
The boy was found unconscious in an in-ground pool in Bay Shore Sunday afternoon.

A 6-year-old Canadian boy visiting family in Bay Shore is in critical condition after a near drowning Sunday afternoon, police said.
According to police, Third Precinct officers responded to a home on Krause Street at about 12:15 p.m. after a 911 caller reported a boy being found unconscious in an in-ground pool.
The 6-year-old from Milton, Canada, was pulled out of the pool by Third Precinct Police Officer Michael Scaturro. Scaturro administered CPR before personnel from Brentwood Legion Ambulance arrived, police said.

The boy was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and later transferred to Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park.
The investigation is continuing, police said.

The incident comes less than a week after a 4-year-old boy drowned in a Bay Shore pool.
