• New York DOT Launches Traffic Study at West Babylon Route 109 and Herzel Boulevard After Fresh Crash and Years of Resident Complaints (parktelegraph.com) — A 29-year-old West Islip man driving an MTA truck was involved in a 4 a.m. crash at Route 109 and Herzel Boulevard in West Babylon, sparking a fresh state traffic study of the troubled intersection. No one was hurt, but years of resident complaints and prior crashes, including a 2022 fatality, have pushed officials to review crash patterns and possible safety fixes.
   

• Driver seriously injured in Farmingdale crash (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Several people, including a seriously injured driver, were taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip after an early-morning rear-end crash on Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale. Police say a southbound Nissan Frontier struck a stopped box truck at a light, and investigators have impounded the Nissan for a safety check while asking witnesses to come forward.
