Boys Coaches vs Cancer Tourney Set for Tuesday

Two games will raise money for the American Cancer Society.

All of the basketball coaches in League II have agreed to have a common Coaches vs. Cancer Day on Tuesday, January 31 starting at the JV game at 4 p.m. followed by the Varsity at 5:45 p.m. against Bay Shore.

The Bay Shore team will also be collecting money at their school as well for this great cause. The West Islip Hoops Club will team up with the WI Student Senate and the West Islip Cheer Association to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The WI Student Senate will be selling decals for $1 at the high school to teachers and students. The West Islip Hoops Club will be donating all of the proceeds from our concession stand for those two games.  Coaches will be wearing white sneakers to show their support.

The cheer association will be going around at halftime of both games collecting anything that the fans can give.  No amount is to small as it all adds up in the end.  The American Cancer Society's mission is simple: They are the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health concern.

Please come to the games and support the efforts of our team.  Thanks for making a difference and thanks for being a community that cares!
