Boys Track Advances to States
Team wasn't satisfied with just an undefeated regular season, will compete in Rochester on June 10 and 11.
Editor's note: the following was contributed by Nancy Tantone, who's been keeping a close eye on the boys track team throughout their impressive postseason run (ZING!).
After completing their, West Islip Boys track continued their winning ways.
At the Suffolk County relays on May 14, the team placed first overall. The Sprint Medley relay (Ronnie Garcia, Connor Walsh, Dan Badolato and Ryan Tantone) set a new school record of 1:38.75 breaking the previous record set in 2005.

At the division championships on May 23 & 25, Colin O'Connor placed fourth in the 400m hurdles, Steve O'Connor placed second in the pentathlon and the 4x800m relay (Dan Badolato, Ryan Tantone, Steve Foppiano and Chris Nohilly) took first in Divion 1 large schools.
Then at the NYS qualifier meet on June 3 & 4, sophmore Chris Nohilly placed fourth overall in the 800m run. The 4 x 800 relay team finished in 7:53 to qualify for the NYS Championship meet to be held in Rochester on June 10 & 11.
