West Islip Assault Triggers Police Manhunt

WEST ISLIP, NY - Suffolk Police are conducting an intensive search for a man wanted in connection with a domestic dispute Tuesday morning in West Islip.

The man reportedly assaulted a woman at a residence on Bellmore Street and then fled before police arrived.

The search, which includes K-9 and aviation units, has been focused on the Route 111 area in Islip.

Islip schools were placed on a lock out as police searched the area, but that lock out has now been lifted.
