It’s that time of year; the mushy, rosy, chocolaty time when we swoon and spend to show our significant others just how much they mean to us.  Oh, the tradition of Valentine’s Day allows us to go a little overboard; indulge in sweets and bubbly, slow dances and dinner out. 

But who says dinner out means you have to travel far?  Let’s extend that lovey-doveyness and show our local restaurants just how much they mean to us too!  Here’s a little peak at what some of West Islip’s favorite spots are serving up for the big day …

Welcoming diners to celebrate Valentine’s Day at their chic eatery, Noninna offers their regular contemporary Italian menu in addition to mouth watering specials that will run weekend long, Friday through Sunday.  Specials will vary nightly but will include:  Roasted beet salad with watercress, radicchio, sweet macadamias and goat cheese; West Coast Pebble Island and Gold Creek Oysters on the half shell; Local monkfish with leeks, smoked pancetta and escargot over spaghetti squash and shellfish in a butter broth; Jumbo grilled shrimp and Manila clams over orzo and spinach in a scampi butter; and a roasted and carved Organic NY Strip Loin served with a rutabaga-bacon-potato hash in a horseradish beurre blanc and red wine sauce.   Need I say more? Reservations recommended.

In addition to their traditional Italian menu, Villa Monaco will be serving a Valentine’s Day menu as well, with specials to be announced upon arrival.   Offering a wide variety of classic Italian dishes, this West Islip favorite is also happy to invite lovebirds to come on down Saturday night and enjoy live music, hold your partner close and enjoy sounds of the 1950’s.

A blend of classic American and traditional Continental fare, this well known West Islip establishment would love for you to join them as they celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend long, serving up their wide spread menu which offers everything from pasta and fresh fish to Sauerbraten and Beef Goulash.  For those couples who prefer something a little less lavish, Parkwood Cafe also serves up a brunch buffet Sundays from 10:30am-2:30pm.

The perfect place to bring the whole family for Valentine’s Day, this local Pizza and Pasta café serves up 30 varieties of pizza as well a large selection of pasta and traditional Italian entrees.  Entrée specials run nightly, ranging from $9.95-$11.95 and are offered with a choice of soup.  So pack up all of your littlest loves and spend Valentine’s Day together, family style.
