Central Islip Man Critically Injured After Car Hits Tree

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that critically injured a Central Islip man early Thursday morning.

Keith Norton, 43, was driving his 2011 Dodge pickup truck south on Connetquot Avenue, north of Napoli Street, when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree at 1:25 a.m.

Norton was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was listed in critical condition. A female passenger in the vehicle was transported to Southside Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
