DA: Former CVS Manager From West Islip Who Stole $40K From Store Sentenced
West Islip man sentenced Monday; paid restitution to Freeport CVS, officials say.

A Suffolk man paid thousands of dollars in restitution and will serve a brief jail sentence for stealing from a Freeport CVS where he worked, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.
Scott Crafa, 42, of West Islip, was sentenced Monday to serve 10 days in jail, three years of probation, and 80 hours of community service by Nassau County Judge Alan Honorof, the DA said.
Crafa also paid a full restitution of $41,251.05 to his former employer, the DA said.

Crafa stole the money while working at CVS as a store manager in March, the DA said. The store discovered money was missing after Crafa failed to make nightly bank deposits, officials said.
“Employees who steal from their places of work not only harm their employers, they also cause cost increases for goods and services that hurt everyone,” said NCDA Kathleen Rice. “Thanks to the hard work of the Freeport Police Department and Nassau County Police Department’s Crimes Against Property Squad, this defendant has been held accountable for betraying the trust of his employer and the customers they serve.”
