EAST ISLIP RESIDENT TERESA O'HALLORAN JOINS UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
United Way of Long Island Welcomes East Islip Resident Teresa O'Halloran to its Board of Directors

United Way of Long Island recently elected East Islip resident Teresa O’Halloran to its Board of Directors. O’Halloran has 23 years of experience in the human resources industry. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Risk Management/Safety/Human Resources at Suffolk Transportation Services, Inc., where she is responsible for State and Federal compliances, asset management, claims management, and acts as a liaison between the company and various constituencies. O’Halloran joins the Board after John Corrado, President of Suffolk Transportation Services, Inc. vacated his seat, continuing the organization’s relationship with United Way of Long Island.
Prior to joining Suffolk Transportation Services, Inc., O’Halloran held similar positions at MKTG, Inc., Pasqua Coffee Bar and Nutri System. She is a member of the Long Island National Society of Human Resource Management, the Workforce Investment Board of Suffolk County, the President of the Pride of Shinnecock Lane US Flag Committee, the East Islip/Dowling School Business Partnership, the High School Workforce Ready Program – VHR, and is a volunteer member of the bereavement ministry and EM at the Church of Saint Mary in East Islip.
O’Halloran is honored to hold a seat on the board. She commented, “I am honored to follow in the footsteps of John Corrado on this vital board. Suffolk Transportation is not only pleased in offering ongoing financial resources to United Way of Long Island, but is also excited about the growing personal involvement of our employees in donating their time and spreading the word about the programs and services offered to all Long Islanders.”

O’Halloran was a 2007 Town of Islip Small Business Award Winner and a member of the Workforce Builder Honor Roll of the Long Island Works Coalition. She received an Associate Degree in Business from Nassau Community College and has received a certificate of Professional in Human Resources from Human Resources Certificate Institute (HRCI) and CP Certificate (Certified Professional) from SHRM.
