ICYMI: St. John HS Student Named National Merit Scholar

In case you missed it, here's a story that appeared last week in West Islip Patch:

WEST ISLIP, NY - One St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School student was among the 2,500 winners of the 2019 National Merit $2,500 Scholarship announced on Wednesday. The winners were selected from a pool of more than 15,000 finalists.

Wednesday's announcement is the second group of winners to be announced this year. In April, more than 1,000 recipients of the corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship were named.

Bay Shore resident Erik D. Williams was named as one of the 2019 National Merit scholars. He is aiming for a career in pediatric neurosurgery.
