Islandia Resident Receives Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Long Island Business Community
General Manager of Westfield South Shore Suzanne Johnson Wins LIBN 40 Under 40 Award

Since 1998, Long Island Business News (LIBN) has been honoring young professionals in its annual 40 under 40 awards ceremony. Islandia resident Suzanne Johnson, General Manager at Westfield South Shore mall in Bay Shore, was among those to receive this year’s honor on January 29, 2015 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY. Award recipients are distinguished by their contributions to the Long Island business community, and involvement in mentoring and/or the devotion to give back to the community.
“An outstanding General Manager and member of the community, Suzanne is an extremely dedicated and hardworking individual in all facets of life,” said Vanessa Mitton, Marketing Director of Westfield South Shore. “The entire Westfield South Shore team is extremely proud of Suzanne and her many accomplishments. She is a deserving recipient of LIBN’s 40 under 40 award.”
Ms. Johnson was promoted to the role of General Manager of Westfield South Shore in 2013, after serving as Assistant General Manager of Westfield’s Connecticut Post and Trumbull malls for a mere five months. She swiftly transitioned into her current role, overseeing the property’s successful $82 million renovation project and evolution from a shopping center to a family-oriented shopping destination. Prior to her career with Westfield, Ms. Johnson held director positions with the American hockey league team Bridgeport Sound Tigers, and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). She earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University.

“I am humbled to be the recipient of this Long Island Business News honor,” said Ms. Johnson. “It is truly amazing to receive an award in recognition of my passions in life, and I am continuously grateful to work with such an amazing staff at Westfield South Shore.”
