LI Couple Welcomes First Baby Of 2019 At Good Samaritan Hospital

Congratulations to parents Rochelle Monroe and Josean Lewis!

WEST ISLIP, NY - An Amityville couple welcomed the first baby born at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in 2019 this New Year's.

Kairo Lewis arrived just after midnight, marking the first baby born of the year at the West Islip hospital.

He was born to parents Rochelle Monroe and Josean Lewis and delivered at 12:08 a.m. by Angeline Seah, MD. He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measured just over 22 inches long.

While born just a few minutes after midnight, he was the second baby born on Long Island in 2019.

The first baby born on Long Island and in the New York metropolitan area this year, nicknamed Baby 007, entered the world at Katz Women's Hospital at LIJ Medical Center in New Hyde Park just seven second after midnight.

As the “First Family of 2019,” Kairo and his parents received a complimentary gift basket filled with clothes, toys and treats courtesy of My Little Rascals in Islip.

He is joined by big sister Gianna.
