LI Man Kills Wife, Hurts Teenage Son: Police
The 49-year-old fatally stabbed his wife and injured his 18-year-old son, who tried to take the knife away, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY - A West Islip man fatally stabbed his wife and injured his son in Copiague on Monday night, according to Suffolk Police.
Wayne Alcus stabbed 55-year-old Patricia Alcus at her Lake Drive home at 7 p.m., police said.
Ryan Alcus, their 18-year-old son, who was in the home at the time of the stabbing, sustained injuries to his hand when he took the knife away from his father, police said.

Patricia Alcus was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic from Copiague Fire Department Rescue. Ryan Alcus was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Wayne Alcus, 49, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Police later charged with second degree murder. He was held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Jan. 22.
