LI Mom Starts Fundraiser To Help Daughter With Rare Cancer
The 17-year-old was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Find out how you can help the family raise money for their medical bills.

WEST ISLIP, NY - A West Islip mom recently started a fundraiser for her teenage daughter who was diagnosed with a rare cancer.
Stacy Skoch-Stauffer created a GoFundMe to raise money for her daughter, 17-year-old Deanna Muth, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia last year.
"As you would expect, this was very shocking and saddening," Skoch-Stauffer wrote on the page.

Muth underwent two chemotherapy treatments at Winthrop Hospital in Mineola before they discovered she had a rare genetic mutation with a high risk for relapse.
This forced her to get a bone marrow/stem cell transplant in 2018. She currently is still going through chemotherapy treatments once a month.

As a result the family's medical bills have been piling up over the past year, which is why Skoch-Stauffer created the page.
"My family and I held off on asking for any help for a while. We wanted to maintain the bills on our own. However, as you can imagine, there are many expensive bills," she wrote. "We are paying as much as we can but the medical bills are coming in faster than we can pay them. My family and I decided it may be time to ask for some help to pay for her medical bills."
Skoch-Stauffer is hoping to reach her goal of $100,000. Since creating the page a month ago, a total of $7,956 has been raised through the page.
