Man Caught Driving Drunk With 7-Year-Old Son in Car: Police

The 25-year-old was pulled over after failing to stop at a four-way stop sign.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A Central Islip man was arrested on Sunday night after he was caught driving drunk with his 7-year-old son in the car in Brentwood, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's office.

Bryan Asencio, 25, was pulled over on Caleb's Path while driving his 1997 Infinity when he failed to stop at a four-way stop sign, police said.

Officers determined that he "displayed clues" that was intoxicated, police said. A blood test is pending lab results.

His son and his fiancée were both in the car.

Asencio was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child and driving with a suspended license, police said. The child was released to his grandmother.

He was remanded to the Suffolk County Jail on Monday afternoon with a $10,000 bond.

Asencio will return to court in Central Islip on Friday, Dec. 16.
