Man Injured After Jumping Out Second Story Window of House on Fire
The fire broke out early Wednesday morning.

BRENTWOOD, NY - One person was hospitalized after a fire broke out at a home in Brentwood early Wednesday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
Police received a call of a house on fire at about 3:25 a.m. and found that the entry way to the house at 86 Peterson Street was on fire.
The house was filled with smoke but not fully engulfed.

The homeowner used a garden hose on the fire until the Brentwood Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire.
One man was injured after he jumped out of a second story window, suffering from cuts to his hand and possible smoke inhalation, police said.

He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The other residents in the home evacuated. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is continuing.
