Man Missing After Boat Capsizes in Fire Island Inlet
Two other boaters were rescued from the water Tuesday evening, police say.
Suffolk County Police are searching for a missing Babylon man after a boat overturned in Fire Island Inlet Tuesday evening. Two other men were rescued.
Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers responded to a call for a capsized vessel in the inlet near Buoy 3 at approximately 5:55 p.m. The officers assisted U.S. Coast Guard units and the New York Police Department Special Operations Division who responded with an aviation unit and deployed divers.
The search is continuing for 50-year old Babylon man who was on the 21-foot fishing boat that overturned. Police did not release his name. A 36-year old Wyandanch man and a 30-year old Amityville man, who were also on the boat, were rescued from the water and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for evaluation.

Last week, two elderly men died after their boat overturned in the Long Island Sound.
