New Reading Room Unveiled At West Islip Library
The library received $75,000 from the state to build the new room. Take a peek at the new reading room below.

WEST ISLIP, NY - A new reading and instructional room was recently added to the West Islip Public Library on Monday.
Local assemblywoman Christine Pellegrino and West Islip Public Library Director Andrew Hamm unveiled the new Bernard Malberg Reading Area and Meeting Room, funded by 2017-2018 State Aid for Library Construction.
The library received $75,000 out of $24 million in capital funds provided for in last year’s state budget.

Nearby, the North Babylon Public Library also received $15,000 for installing new security cameras in the parking lot.
"As the mother of two West Islip public school students and a former reading teacher, I wholeheartedly support public libraries as a shared community space for continued learning," Pellegrino wrote on her Facebook page.
