Police: Brentwood Man Was Training Roosters For Fighting
Man arrested Wednesday morning also faces drug charges.

A search warrant executed as part of a narcotics investigation at a Brentwood home Wednesday morning turned up more than drugs, police say.
A total of 45 roosters were also discovered and police say they were being training for fighting.
Suffolk Police and officers from the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals executed a search warrant at 107 4th St. at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

During the search, cocaine and marijuana were discovered as well as the roosters that showed evidence of being trained for fighting, police said.
Reynaldo Bonilla, 37, was arrested and charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with training an animal to fight, a felony under New York State Agricultural and Markets Law.

The roosters were removed from the property by SPCA officers.
Bonilla will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.
