Police Look To Crack 35-Year-Old Cold Murder Case
A19-year-old woman was found dismembered on the Southern State Parkway on Feb. 3, 1982.
State Police announced on Tuesday that they are continuing to investigate the murder of a Brentwood teen that occurred in 1982.
On Feb. 3, 1982 several plastic bags containing human remains were found on the shoulder of the ramp leading from the westbound Southern State Parkway to the northbound Sagtikos State Parkway northbound in Islip.
After an autopsy, the remains were identified as 19-year-old Tina Foglia, of Brentwood. The autopsy also revealed that she was the victim of a homicide.

She was found dismembered.
Police at the time discovered that Foglia was last seen leaving Hammerheads Bar, then located on Sunrise Highway in West Islip, at 3 a.m. on Feb. 1, 1982.

Numerous interviews and hundreds of leads have been followed over the past three decades. The investigation is still active.
Foglia was described as being 5-foot-2, 185 pounds, with brown eyes and brown shoulder length hair.
She was known to hitchhike and frequent nightclubs in Suffolk County, particularly clubs in the towns of Islip and Babylon.
