Police: West Islip Gas Station Sold Alcohol to Minor
Clerk among five people arrested in the area Saturday during investigation, police say.

A West Islip gas station clerk was among five people arrested in the area on Saturday during an investigation into the sale of alcohol to minors, police said.
Third Precinct Crime Section officers conducted the investigation during which 22 businesses were checked for compliance.
Police said the following people were arrested and charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a minor after they sold alcohol to a minor:

- Sebahitti Akkaya, 52, of Delta Mini Mart, 305 Union Boulevard, West Islip
- Junaid Sian, 29, of Exxon Gas Mart, 172 Howells Road, Bay Shore
- Nelson Peralta, 47, of Nino’s Deli, 4B Smith Ave., Bay Shore
- Tahir Erdogan, 34, of Carleton Quick Service, 171 Carleton Ave., East Islip
- James Guardino, 22, of Parmar Liquors, 259 Main St., Islip
The five clerks were each issued a field appearance ticket and are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on Oct. 26.
