Report: EMTs Evacuate West Islip's Bagel Buzz After Carbon Monoxide Scare

EMTs will receive free bagels for life, Bagel Buzz manager says.

Two EMTs helped avert a potential tragedy at West Islip’s Bagel Buzz Thursday morning, according to a CBS 2 report.

The portable carbon monoxide detectors the EMTs were carrying started going off at the Union Boulevard business, indicating elevated levels of the toxic gas, the report says.

Everyone was evacuated from the store safely and it was determined there was a gas leak in the building. A Bagel Buzz manager says the EMTs who came to the rescue will receive free bagels for life, according to the report.
