Southside Hospital Hosts Free Heart Health, Education Event for Teens
Local teens will get various heart screenings and learn how to do CPR.

Southside Hospital will host a free heart health and education session for teenagers on June 3 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the hospital.
Attendees will have their blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and body mass index assessed as well as get an electrocardiogram (EKG), which looks at the heart’s electrical activity. They will also learn about risk factors for heart disease and ways to keep their heart healthy.
The educational session will end with a presentation and direct learning experience of hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use a defibrillator (AED).
