Southside Hospital, Johnson & Johnson Teach Health Education to Brentwood Middle Schoolers

Brentwood North Middle School students have learned about various aspects of health.

For eight weeks this fall, Brentwood North Middle School students have learned about various aspects of health through a collaboration between Southside Hospital and Johnson & Johnson through their Project Perfect workshop.

Approximately 30 students attended weekly seminars regarding good nutrition, self-esteem, community service and other topics. Following a family dinner on November 30, parents were provided with an insight into the program and the topics presented over the eight weeks.

Johnson & Johnson teamed up with Southside Hospital and other local community groups affiliated with Southside’s Community Outreach and Health Education Council (COHEC) to bring these educational sessions to Brentwood North Middle school students. Southside Hospital supplied the lecturers as well as the healthy snacks and dinner.

“Providing health education to our youth is incredibly important,” said Donna Moravick, NP, executive director of Southside Hospital. “When speaking with the students and the parents, it is apparent they learned about healthy options and will hopefully practice what they have learned.”
