WEST ISLIP, NY — Families across the Town of Islip will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, after more than 800 turkeys were distributed on Tuesday in Casemento Park.

In partnership with non-profit organization Islip Food for Hope, local officials distributed the turkeys and "Boxes of Love", containing ingredients to make a holiday dinner such as stuffing, yams, green beans, cranberry sauce and apple and pumpkin pies. The food was donated by various town departments, local businesses and the office of the Town of Islip Supervisor.

“After more than a year of unprecedented challenges and separation from our loved ones, families will come together to celebrate the holidays,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
