WEST ISLIP, NY — A former contestant on NBC's 'The Voice' is beginning her next chapter.

Bella DeNapoli, 23, a top 20 finalist of NBC's The Voice, will be performing at a sold-out show on Thursday at The Better Man Distillery in Patchogue at 7 p.m.

While the West Islip native is no stranger to performing on Long Island, she told Patch that the event will be the first time she'll perform for her fanbase outside of The Voice.

"It's a opportunity that I've never had before where I can actually engage with my fans on a personal basis and build our connection that we already have through social media," she said. "It's almost like opening the doors of my new journey."

The singer/songwriter wowed judges in her Season 21 audition, singing a unique rendition of Danity Kane's "Damaged." She ultimately chose to join Ariana Grande's team.

During her Battle Rounds episode, DeNapoli dueted "Enough Is Enough" and was given a second chance to participate in the competition after losing against teammate Katie Rae Mortimer. She then went on to perform against Katherine Ann Mohler in the Knockout rounds, wowing the judges with Sia's "Chandelier".

In the Top 20 finals, DeNapoli failed to receive enough viewer votes to move forward in the competition with her rendition of Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape." She then sang Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man" to fight for the Wild Card spot, but lost to 14-year-old Hailey Mia of Team Kelly via viewer vote.

Since her time with The Voice, DeNapoli told Patch that she's had time to grow, and in doing so, has written and released new music.

"The show gave me a beautiful platform," she said. "Something I will thank them forever for, are fans that want to hear more and I'm so grateful for."

Her most recent single,"ily", about different stages of love, was released on February 10, her 23rd birthday.

"I think we go through different stages of love in our life, that help you learn so much about yourself," DeNapoli said. "My goal with this song was to make sure that I am being honest and truthful. And maybe it can help someone else that's going through the same thing to know that they're not alone."

DeNapoli told Patch that the show will also be a "see you later" to Long Island. The singer will travel to Los Angeles for business ventures, she said, but Long Island will definitely see her later this summer.

The biggest takeaways from competing on The Voice, she said, is to be confident in her authentic artistry, and to always trust herself.

"Because no matter what, at the end of the day, you are doing, I'm doing this because of I want to help people," she said. " If something that I believe in strongly touches, just one person, that's it. That's all that matters to me. That's really enough."
