West Islip High School To Host Community Planetarium Night

The West Islip High School Science Department announced they will be hosting a Community Planetarium Night next week.

The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

All are welcome to come see the wonders of the night sky in the high school's planetarium, which has been in operation since the 1960s.

Emphasis will be on the sun, moon, stars, planets, constellations and signs of the zodiac of the fall/winter
night sky as seen from West Islip.

Following the presentation, night sky telescope observing will be available, weather permitting.

Due to limited seating, seating will be on a first come/first served basis.
