
WEST ISLIP, NY - Dawn Morrison was recently named the new assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction for the West Islip School District.
She most recently served as principal of West Islip’s Manetuck Elementary School.
Before that, Morrison worked as principal of the district’s Oquenock Elementary School and assistant principal at the district’s Beach Street Middle School.

She began her career in education in 2000 as a seventh grade English teacher at Beach Street.
Morrison, an Oak Beach resident, earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, her master’s degree in education from Dowling College, and her administrative certification from the College of Saint Rose in Albany.
