West Islip Native Celebrates 100th Birthday

Congratulations to the newest centenarian Estelle Kaznowzki!

WEST ISLIP, NY - West Islip native Estelle Kaznowzki recently celebrated her 100th birthday.

Kaznowzki has already led a fascinating life, having served in World War II and returning to her native West Islip as one of the first nurses hired at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.

She later finishing her career at Good Samaritan Hospital in her hometown before retiring.

In August, she celebrated her milestone birthday along with local officials Assemblyman Mike LiPetri and Suffolk County Legislator Steve Flotteron.

The two presented Kaznowzki with a proclamation honoring her 100th birthday.

"The life of Estelle Kaznowski has been nothing short of remarkable. Her service for both her country and her community is truly honorable," LiPetri said. "Happy Birthday, Stel!"
