West Islip's Drew Federico and the Fairfield Stags take on Hofstra in Season Finale

Drew Federico will look to obtain new career high in points as he and that Stags take on Hofstra in season finale.

The Fairfield University men’s lacrosse team concludes the regular season and caps a three-game homestand under the lights at Rafferty Stadium with a visit from Hofstra on Friday, April 24th. Opening faceoff on Conway Field is slated for 7 p.m.

West Islip native Drew Federico is having another great season for the Stags with 8 goals and 8 assists in the year. His 16 point total is one shy of his career high of 17, which he will look to eclipse on Friday.

The Stags enter their final Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contest in contention for at least a share of the CAA regular season title and in the hunt for the top seed in the upcoming CAA Championship. Fairfield (8-5, 3-1 CAA) would need a victory over the Pride coupled with a Towson loss to Drexel on Saturday to secure the top seed and hosting rights for the postseason.

Hofstra (5-8, 2-2) was the preseason favorite in the CAA, and comes into its regular season finale needing a victory to qualify for the postseason. The Pride can still secure the CAA’s top seed with a win, a Towson loss to Drexel and a UMass loss to Delaware, but would miss the playoffs altogether with a loss on Friday night.

Tickets for Friday’s game at Rafferty Stadium are available at FairfieldStags.com/TIX or through the Fairfield Athletics Ticket Office at 203-254-4136.
