WI Alumni Lacrosse Report: Monteith Reaches 200 Career Points at Oneonta

This week's report is jammed with huge numbers from a crop of talented alumni.

Every Monday during the college lacrosse season, Patch will update you on the progress of former players.  Since there's so many to count, we won't be listing every player each week.

Player of the Week:  Rebecca Monteith (Oneonta, Jr.)

A week following a clutch five-goal performance against SUNY Potsdam, in which she had the game-tying and game-winning goals in 12-10 victory, the junior attacker tallied six goals in a losing effort against Geneseo.

She became only the third player in Oneonta women's lacrosse history to pass the 200-career point mark.  In her remarkable career, she has 167 goals and 35 assists.  Did we mention that she's only a junior?

Devan Crimi (Adelphi, Fr.)

Just how good are the top-ranked Adelphi Panters?  In their last four games, they've outscored their opponents 92-23, including a 20-14 win over fifth-ranked and previously unbeaten Stonehill College on April 9th.  Crimi threw up four points (three goals, one assist) in that one and is fourth on the team with 43 points (25 goals, 18 assists).

(UNC, Fr.)

The highly-touted freshman continues to be electric for the tenth-ranked Tar Heels.  Last week he tallied 11 points; a seven-point (four goals, three assists) performance in a 15-8 victory over Lehigh on Sunday and a two goal, two assist outing in a 15-5 win over Presbyterian on Wednesday.

He leads UNC with 51 points, ranks 11th in the nation with 3.64 points/game and ranks third in the nation with 2.18 assists/game.

Rob Moore (Jacksonville University, Fr.)

Moore was named MAAC Rookie of the Week for his four point effort against Marist this past Saturday.  The former Lions standout had a hat trick and assist and is averaging just over a goal per game for the season.

Eddie Plompen (C.W. Post, So.)

Plompen, one of the top points players in all of DII lacrosse, added to his already stunning resume with 14 points in two wins this past week.  The second-year player for the top-ranked Pioneers had six points (four goals, two assists) against Wheeling Jesuit University and eight points (five goals, three assists) against Lake Erie College.

Brian Caufield (UAlbany, Sr.)

Caufield had one goal and two assists in a 13-9 loss to UMBC over the weekend.  Although he's struggled with injuries and the Danes haven't had the season they'd hoped, Caufield is currently ranked 16th in the nation with 1.67 assists/game.

Ian Braddish (Hofstra, So.)

Has the Braddish family been on a roll or what?  Ian recorded two goals and one assist in a 8-7 win over Fairfield on Saturday, the same day his brother Connor netted a hat trick for the Lions in a 8-7 win over Chaminade.

After a slow start to his new career at Hofstra, Braddish has caught fire and now has 23 points on the season (12 goals, 11 assists) for the seventh-ranked Pride.

Lauren Spagnoletta (C.W. Post, Jr.)

In a six-day span, Spagnoletta lit up the box score for the sixth-ranked Pioneers.  Her numbers: Four goals in a 18-5 win at Molloy, six points (five goals, one assist) in a 17-8 victory over Queens College and three points (two goals, one assist) in a 11-9 loss to No. 5  Stonehill College.

Ryan Zaremba (Geneseo, Fr.)

Zaremba helped Geneseo earn their fourth win of the season, stopping nine shots in a 9-7 victory over Oswego two Saturdays ago, and then their fifth win by stopping five shots against Brockport last Wednesday.  He's notched 96 saves in his first season with the Blue Dragons.

Bryan Badolato (Sacred Heart, So.)

A two goal, one assist performance was almost enough from the Sacred Heart sophomore on Saturday, who fell to Bryant 9-7.  But Badolato is having a stellar season for the Pioneers and leads his team with 31 points (20 goals, 11 assists) in only 10 games played this season.
