20-Year-Old Arrested in Shooting over Failed Sneaker Deal

The incident occurred Friday night on Ferris Avenue in White Plains.

A 20-year-old Bronx man was arrested on a felony charge of 1st degree robbery Friday in connection with a shooting on Ferris Avenue in White Plains, reports The Journal News.

Matusim Carter, of the Bronx, was apprehended a couple of hours after the 7 p.m. assault, which occurred when Carter and the victim argued over a deal to buy sneakers.

The victim, a White Plains man who was shot in the leg, was listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. He is being treated at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, but his identity was not released.

“Our detectives were able to get a good description of the vehicle involved in this incident after talking to residents and using other investigative techniques,” White Plains Public Safety Commissioner David Chong told The Journal News. “We put out a bulletin and within two hours the vehicle was spotted by New York City police in the Bronx and an arrest was made.”
