2016 Top Catholic High Schools in New York

Eight Hudson Valley Catholic high schools are among the best in New York, according to online ranking website Niche.com.

The site based its list on factors such as “SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, student and parent reviews, and more.”

Harrison's School of the Holy Child is tops in the Hudson Valley, followed by The Uruline School in New Rochelle, Iona Prep also in New Rochelle, John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers and Maria Regina High School in Greenburgh.

The top four Catholic high school in New York – all in NYC – are Regis High School, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Marymount School and Loyola School. School of the Holy Child, mentioned above, is fifth.

The website adds, “This grade takes into account key factors such as the strength of academics, school culture and diversity, as well as student and parent reviews, in an attempt to measure the overall excellence of the school.”

Regis High School is also the nation's top Catholic high school, followed by Cistercian Prep in Southwest Dallas, Delbarton School in Morris Township, NJ, Sacred Heart Schools Atherton in Atherton, CA, and NYC's Convent of the Sacred Heart.

School of the Holy Child also made the country's top 100 list at no. 46, and The Ursuline School came in at no. 93 nationally.
